Hello everyone!
Welcome to my new blog.
I've been reading many many study abroad blogs before I jet off to Paris, and I decided it was in my best interest to do so.
So whether you are friend or stranger, please follow my adventures!
If you are one of those people who are going to study abroad, congratulations. I hope together we can make this journey.
Bon Voyage!
But before I can fly off, there are many-a-things to take care of.
Right now I'm in the middle of getting all of my paperwork handled. Unfortunately for me, my passport and permanent residence card all expired a couple of days ago, so I had to renew them.
After my green card expired, I considered just becoming an American Citizen, but realized I may risk not being able to come back into the country because all of the documents would not be processed quick enough. SO, i just went with renewing my green card. A couple of days ago, I went to the US immigration offices and they took my biometrics and took my picture. It was really simple and well organized. I've heard horror stories about the immigration offices, so I'm really thankful everything went smoothly. I am expecting my new green card in a couple of weeks/months!
Next up, for NYU's program we had to turn in 4 passport photos. Although I'm a photographer, I went to Duane Reade for their passport services. They took a picture of me against a white wall with their super interesting looking camera and printed out and cut 4 passport photos. Altogether it took me like 10 minutes. Its 10 dollars for 2 photos and I needed 4 so all of my Visa pictures were taken care of for 20 dollars.
Anyways, I'll check back in here when I have more to update on.
'til then I'll be dreaming awaaay (:
