When I first came to Paris, I had a "bucket list" so to speak. There are only 5 things on that list, most of them foolish nonesense that I wanted to experience before I left, but the first one on that list was to go to Disneyland Paris. For those of you who are new to the blog, I've been a huge Disneyfan since I got an annual pass to the Disneyland in California my Junior/Senior year of highschool. I'm not sure what I loved so much about it. Maybe it was the people I was going with, or the fact that I was able to go to this perfectly crafted well though out place whenever I wanted. Whatever it was, I've been a huge fan ever since, so going to Disneyland in Paris was definitely on the top of my list.
Our Disney group consisted of my friend Seth from New York and my Parisian friend Audrey. We met up in the morning to take the RER (high speed train within France), and got off directly infront of the park. Thats another great thing about Disneyland Paris -- you dont need to drive or worry about where you parked your car!
The day was surprisingly chilly. I think people thought it would rain so there weren't lines for anything (amazing). Also, I had watched Tim Burton movies the night before, so I was crazy excited for this kind of spooky Disney, This is Halloween, vibe.
My favorite ride was The Haunted Mansion--it is a bit different than the one in California, which is always exciting to see. It just fit the mood and I had just eaten a nice warm churro and coffee before I went on the ride so it was settling nice in my belly throughout the Haunted Mansion tour.
All in all, Disneyland Paris is smaller and -how do i say this- more French. (As it should be). The music isn't as loud, the details aren't as marvelous, the food is healthier (bonus!), and it is a smaller park. Nonetheless, I had an amazing time and look forward to going again for Christmas.
PS: The Disney Dreams firework show is a masterpiece!
